What is a direct composite veneer?
“Direct” describes how the veneer is made: the dentist shapes the composite material directly on the tooth. Its shade and contour are matched to the surrounding teeth and your preferences. A porcelain veneer, by contrast, is made separately in a dental laboratory.
Before veneer treatment, your teeth, gums and bite need to be examined. Tooth decay and gum disease must be treated first. Teeth grinding requires individual assessment.

Ongoing care
Composite can generally be repaired more easily, but may be more prone to wear and staining than porcelain. You should also allow for future polishing and check-ups.

Is a composite veneer the same as a porcelain veneer?
No. At Crown Dental, a direct veneer is made from composite at the clinic. An indirect veneer is made from porcelain in our own dental laboratory.
